About PLACE
Our vision is for local communities, governments, and others to share decisions on the things that matter most in people’s lives.
Place-based approaches create the opportunity for shared understanding and shared action for lasting change.
What PLACE will do
Enable
Lead the development and implementation of a national workforce strategy for place-based change, supporting the needs of communities.
Learn & share
Bring together, translate, disseminate, and generate evidence, knowledge, and other resources to amplify and accelerate place-based practice and policymaking.
Collaborative solutions
Enable and convene expertise and experience to identify possible solutions to shared challenges and incubate concepts through partnerships and wrap-around support.
Strengthen data
Provide a range of practical supports to place-based approaches to improve data, monitoring and evaluation.
Community-led governance
PLACE’s governance structure has been designed to ensure community leadership and accountability that goes beyond input or participation through advisory groups.
We will establish a Community Council that will shape how PLACE operates, its priorities and recommendations for board appointments. This recognises the importance of collaboration and shared decision-making among diverse stakeholders.
EOI - Community Council
Are you passionate about shaping the future of community-led change in Australia?
We are launching an open Expression of Interest (EOI) for our inaugural Community Council.
The Community Council is a vital part of PLACE’s governance structure, allowing PLACE to connect with place-based initiatives across the country
As a member of the Community Council, you will be expected to attend quarterly meetings and undertake a number of tasks including:
Co-design the enduring model for how PLACE will engage with communities across Australia
Provide feedback on our Terms of Reference
Participate in co-design forums surrounding the Community Council
Offer strategic advice on PLACE’s proposed activities
Ensure diverse perspectives from different community groups and initiatives are heard.
If you're ready to make a meaningful impact and support community empowerment, we encourage you to apply here!
